  • 'Veterans News' Newsletter Now Available

    The Becker County Veterans Service office is now publishing a 'Veterans News' newsletter to help highlight events, news, and announcements for our local Veterans. The latest version is available here at Volume 4 Issue 3 (PDF).

* Office Closure Notice *

The Becker County Veterans Service Office will be closed beginning March 13, 2025, to support the transitioning of the Veterans Service Officer, and has no ability to schedule any appointments in the short term. In the interim, to support your needs, here are some resources available to our Veterans and their families:

  • Fargo VA Medical Center contacts: https://www.va.gov/fargo-health-care/contact-us/
  • Use the "Find a CVS" on the Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers website https://www.macvso.org/ to find an office in an adjacent county to contact for other issues, including:
    • Eligibility and enrollment in VA Health Care
    • Obtaining veterans discharge document (DD214)
    • Help filing a new claim for pension, disability, or survivor benefits, including grave markers and burial benefits
    • Dental and optical vouchers
    • Emergent Financial needs
    • Many other questions
  • To discuss new or ongoing claims for pension, disability, or survivor benefits, please contact your claims representative: Note: the claims representative you selected is copied on all of your documentation regarding your claim.

  • If you need a copy of your DD214, and you have filed it with Becker County, you can get a copy in the County Recorder's Office on the second floor of the courthouse.

Becker County Veterans Services assists in claims processing for veterans' benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans and their dependents may be entitled to benefits and services through both federal and state programs:

Our office also works with the Veterans Service Offices of other Minnesota counties. If you have recently moved to Becker County from another county in Minnesota, or if you are planning to move to another Minnesota county, please contact us and we will arrange to have your records moved to ensure a smooth transition of service.
